Total Recall MMO in Development

November 9, 2011 by Lyle Smith

SEE Games and ZQGames will collaborate to make the MMO

SEE Games, an entertainment company publishing digital and online games linked to major licensed Hollywood franchises, and ZQGames, a leading Chinese online gaming company, announced to create and publish an original free-to-play MMO based on the film Total Recall set for release in the US on August 3, 2012.

The Total Recall will be full-3D browser-based and is said to be capable of rendering console-like graphics, characters, and environments without having its own client.  Though the game will be free to play, players will have the option to make micro-transactions containing a hybrid of features from traditional MMOs. Total Recall will use a specially designed engine and claims that their technology will be capable of managing and creating a large scale 3D game within a browser platform.

Total Recall originally stared Arnold Schwarzenegger back in 1990 but a remake with Colin Farrell is in the works and will coincide with the MMO’s release.
