Ace Attorney, the movie, guys.
I don't think you need to know Japanese or anything about the game (eg. myself) to know that this movie seems to be sticking pretty close to its source material, which is definitely a rare thing now-a-days in video game adaptations–for better or for worse. This, uh, wacky attorney thriller is due out on February 11, 2012 in Japan.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney the game stars Phoenix Wright, a defense attorney who's new on the scene working at the Fey and Co. Law Offices, which owned by fellow defense attorney Mia Fey. Other characters include Maya Fey, Mia's sister; Miles Edgeworth, a rival prosecutor; Dick Gumshoe, an odd-ball detective, and Larry Butz, an old friend of Phoenix's.
The game follows the usual procedure of five court cases, which are divided into episodes. Each case changes between two game modes: the investigation of the case and the actual trial. The investigation aspect of the game has Phoenix gather evidence and interviewing characters or suspects involved in the case. During the trial part of the game, Phoenix defends his client using the gathered evidence and cross examines witnesses to solve the mystery of each case. As for gameplay, the perspective is usually in the third-person during court scenes and in first-person while outside of court.
