Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that One Piece: Burning Blood will be released across most of the Americas on May 31st, 2016. Brazilian and European players will need to wait until June 3rd for their chance to get the game.
One Piece: Burning Blood is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox One. It will also be released on PC through Stream in June. If you’re in Japan or willing to import you can get the game from April 21st when it launches there.
Nine additional playable characters have been confirmed today as well, with Edward Newgate AKA “Whitebeard”, Marco, Jozu, Jimbei, Luffy (from before the two year time skip), Nico Robin, Nami, Perona, and Boa Hancock all joining the roster of the ‘Paramount War’ story mode, which allows players to explore the dramatic events of the Marineford Arc from the manga and anime series through battles and specially created cutscenes.
The game’s website recommends staying tuned over the next several weeks as more information about Paramount War will be revealed soon. You can also check out a series of new screenshots there, including the one used in this article of Jimbei.
News of the release date follows recent confirmation from Bandai Namco and developer Spike Churnsoft of the game’s Pre-order Edition. If you order the game in advance you’ll get an exclusive 13,5cm x 17cm metal case, as well as Afro Luffy, Luffy Gear 4th, and Kung Fu Luffy playable characters.
