Multiversus Is Doing Really Well On PC

July 25, 2022 by Todd Black

for now at least…

It’s always fun to see a video game do much better than anyone expected. Mainly because it shows that sometimes people just need to try something out instead of just talking about it online. This brings us to Multiversus, a game that had been rumored for a long time, and then exploded into the gaming ranks and haven’t left people’s minds as a result of how good it is. But just as important, a lot of people are playing it despite it only being on early access. To note, the only ones who can currently play are those who were in the previous closed alpha tests, those who buy a Founder’s Pack, people who watch 1 hour of the game on Twitch or players who signed up to compete at Evo 2022.

And apparently, enough people have filled out those qualifications to make it so that the average player count of the game on PC is higher than all the other main fighting games out there on Steam combined. To give you some context, that means that this early access title is doing better than the combined amounts of Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, Guilty Gear Strive, and more.

Now, some would say it’s “old game versus new game” but we all know that there are dedicated people who are going to play their game over all others. So that’s not enough here. What is noticeable though is that people online are very much praising Multiversus for its fun, combat, and the unique roster that it has. Not unlike certain other titles from recent history, people weren’t sure what to make of it, but when they tried it out, they loved it.

So imagine how popular it’ll be when it comes out on Beta and more people have access to it?
