Well, we all know how the LAST big game to be set in a “Cyberpunk” world went, so we’re all hoping that this one is a bit better at launch, right? Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a unique game that acts as a kind of “spiritual successor” to a cult classic game from ages ago.
Long story short, you’re going to lose your head, literally, get it replaced with a robot head, seriously, and then join a crew to help tag the city and more your claim to it.
You’ll be bounding all over the city so you can graffiti the place up, down, left and right.

Welcome back to the past once more, as Assassin’s Creed Mirage will take you to the 9th century and into the city of Baghdad, where many things are afoot.
The title takes place in the earliest days of the Brotherhood, as they’re still exerting their influence on the world. You are Basim, who has been brought into the Hidden Ones to try and learn their skills and seek out the truth behind the visions that you’re having.
The future of Basim has already been written, but what led him to make the decisions he did? You’ll have to put on the hood of the assassins to find the truth.

Red Dead Redemption offers action on numerous fronts as you’re thrown into the age of the Wild West and tasked to take down a group of outlaws. The twist is that these outlaws were your friends; taking them down is the only way you’ll have piece.
In the recent rerelease of the game, you’ll also get access to the “Undead Nightmare” storyline, where you’ll get to face off against zombies! As we all know, there are plenty of things to do and shoot when zombies roam around.

But as noted, there’s a mystery within this island chain, and you’ll be guided to figure it out. But what is the mysterious truth that you’ve been sent to find? What does it have to do with the creatures of the depths? Hope in your vessel and find out!
#17 Metroid Prime Remastered

#16 Hi-Fi Rush

If you haven’t heard about Hi-Fi Rush by now, you’re seriously living under a rock. This was the game from Tango Gameworks that shadow-dropped earlier in the year and amazed everyone with its vibrant world, clever combat, and unique setting.
The game puts you as Chai, a guy who goes in for an experiment and accidentally has his heart replaced with a music player! Oops.
Now, alongside some fellow misfits, you’ll need to take on the corporation that wronged you and defeat them while mashing buttons to the beat!
Yep, it’s a rhythm action title, and you’ll want to be right on cue so you can deliver the most damage.
#15 Arizona Sunshine 2

Everyone, say hello to Fred! Fred is a survivor of the zombie apocalypse, and now you have a chance to help him stay alive!
In Arizona Sunshine 2, you’ll go across the state of Arizona to get answers to a mystery that Fred must solve. But don’t worry, Fred isn’t alone! Yes, he has zombies he’ll see regularly, but he’ll also have a dog at his side!
In this VR action title, you’ll work your way through the terrain and hordes of zombies to try and get out alive! So mind your surroundings, listen to your furry friend, and make it to the next day!
#14 Wild Hearts

Who doesn’t like taking down massive monsters to showcase that you can do it? If you’ve wanted to jump into some monster-hunting titles but wanted one that’ll be a bit easier to get into, Wild Hearts is the one to check out.
The game puts you in a version of Japan in the medieval age with some fantasy twists. Those twists are a sect of monsters known as Kemono who terrorize everything around you.
To save the day, you must wield powerful weapons and technology to kill the beasts before they ruin everything. It won’t be easy, as numerous types of monsters must be slayed, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. So plan accordingly!

What is your ability? You can inhabit the body of any animal or item you find. You can inhabit over 30 creatures/items, and each will help you traverse the island more easily!

In Scars Above, an alien artifact has randomly appeared above the planet. A science team is sent to observe it, but things go horribly wrong and the team is sent across the stars to a planet that they don’t know!
You’ll awaken as Dr. Kate Ward, who is alone on the planet and must do all she can to find her crew and figure out what this artifact has done. To be clear here, Dr. Kate is not a soldier, she’s a scientist. So you’ll have to use her brains and resourcefulness in order to get her through the challenges ahead.
There are many dangers, and mysteries, in Scars Above. Will you be able to solve and survive them all?
#10 Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name

The Yakuza franchise has been undergoing a big transformation over the years, and as a result, very special games like “Yakuza: Like A Dragon” have been coming out and putting twists on the formula.
Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, is the next game to try and do that to the series, all the while keeping it in line with what came before.
This time around you’ll play as Kazuma Kiryu, whom you might recall was the protagonist of previous games. After the events of the 6th main game, the character has tried to become a monk in order to leave it all behind, even changing his name to help with that.
But “one last mission” has come his way, and whether he embraces it or does it so he can be left alone is what all want to see.
#9 Like a Dragon Ishin

While it may not be named after the Yakuza group anymore, nor is the entry in question set in modern-day Japan, that doesn’t mean you should shrug off Like A Dragon: Ishin.
Instead, you should give it a chance to see just how well this game has been made. You’ll trade in the modern-day aesthetics for 1860s Kyoto and embark on a mission of vengeance and justice as you attempt to find the man who murdered your father.
Wielding a gun and a samurai sword, you’ll face all sorts of people in Kyoto. Each fight will bring you closer to the truth. But the real question is whether you can handle that truth.
#8 Star Wars Jedi: Survivors

Picking up five years after Jedi: Fallen Order, Survivors continues protagonist Kal Cestis story, and it also takes place simultaneously alongside the most recent Star Wars Disney + shows.
It was only a matter of time before this franchise embraced the open-world feel of numerous other games and made it their own. Star Wars Jedi Survivor will have you play Cal Kestis again, and you’ll once again explore the numerous worlds, moons, and stations of the galaxy far, far away. However, this time, you’ll get to go to places with a bit more depth.
Specifically, you’ll go to worlds where you can go off the beaten path and unlock new side missions. Or, you can return after learning new powers and abilities and see what new options you have available to you.
So don’t be afraid to take a beat and see what these worlds offer you.
#7 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

The follow-up to Insomniac Games’ massive hit on PS4, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will continue the adventures of Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Now a unified “Spider Unit,” the two seek to protect New York City from numerous threats.
Such as what? Well, the arrival of Kraven the Hunter will put them to the test. He’s seeking the ultimate challenge and wants nothing more than to test himself against the Spider-Men and see if they’re worthy of the hunt.
But that’s not all! The Symbiote will get its claws into Peter, and Venom will soon emerge! Will the two be able to withstand the might of the Symbiote and the Hunter?
#6 Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

A movie franchise rarely gets a video game adaptation that is meant to help expand the movie’s universe in a meaningful way. Yet that’s exactly what’s happening with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora!
You play a Na’vi who was kidnapped by humans and raised to try and help them infiltrate the various tribes on Pandora so the humans could achieve their goals. However, after being abandoned, you’re eventually found by a tribe and must learn to be like them so you can understand what being a Na’vi is truly like!
Plus, the humans will return, so you’ll get to help protect your people from the invaders!
#5 Horizon: Call of the Mountain

Forbidden West cemented the Horizon series as a mainstay in open-world gaming, and the third game in the series, Call of the Mountain, has fans poised for what’s next. This is not a straight sequel, though. Instead players are getting a virtual reality title made specifically for the PSVR 2.
Players take control of a new character called Ryas who faces an undisclosed new threat, and you’ll need to take care of it. If you enjoyed the franchise then you can get a far more immersive experience in this game installment.

You can wander the castle and seek out its many hidden rooms. Then you can head to the grounds, fly on hippogriffs, or delve into the Forbidden Forest! You can even go to Hogsmeade and have unique adventures there! So jump in and wander to your hearts’ content!

Whether you’ve been with the franchise since the beginning or you joined recently because of a 9-foot-tall vampire lady, the Resident Evil franchise has been aiming to scare gamers for decades. Not every title is worthy of being dubbed a “horror classic,” but some stand out. One of which was the fourth mainline game that is about to get an upgrade.
What makes the Resident Evil 4 Remake so appetizing to gamers is the fact that the original version was scary in its own right despite the now-dated graphics. So now imagine it with next-gen graphics and effects and the benefit of hindsight. You’ll be screaming in terror for sure.

Your goal is simple. An AI is bent on going to Earth to transform humanity into cybernetic abominations. You have to stop SHODAN at any cost! But with her army of already transformed creatures, you will have your hands full.
So load up with various weaponry and take the fight to the AI to save the world!

It took many years for this franchise to embrace the open-world gameplay aesthetic. But once it did, it was never the same in the best way possible.
Fast forward to Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, and you can see why this series has blossomed in a new way recently. Hyrule has never been more open to you. There are technically three different “realms” for you to visit via the Sky Islands, The Depths, and the overworld that is Hyrule.
Within these areas are plenty of puzzles, monsters, side quests, shrines, temples, and more to do at your pace and leisure.
It’s a vast world that needs saving. So get to saving it!
