Need for Speed: New Update Includes Photo Mode, 100+ Customization Items

January 29, 2016 by Gameranx Staff

A new update for Need for Speed looks to improve the game.

EA's new Need for Speed wasn't launched in the best of states. However, the studio is working to fix some big issues players have complained about by releasing a lot of highly requested content in its upcoming patch. These changes are expected to bring a lot of improvements to the game.

The update is dubbed Showcase and has been dated for a February 3 release. It includes a new photo mode called Snapshot Pro, which allows you to frame and take your own screenshots in the game using an in-game tool and share what you take with others or save them to download.

The update also includes 100 new customization items, to be added to vehicles in the game.

Additionally, there will be a new competitive multiplayer mode to make it easy for players to find others to race against with online without having to dive through the open world mode.

Here's everything else:

  • New Feature: Wrap Sharing
  • New Feature: Snapshot Pro Mode
  • A new “Splash” screen which gives players information on what is included in the new updates from the Living Game
  • A new Snapshot overview screen in the Need for Speed Network menu so you can find out more about your snapshots
  • Improvements to Kickbacks and likes on snapshots
  • 100+ new customization items for a variety of cars
  • License plates are back. Apply around 10 different license plates to your car for more in depth customization
  • We’ve made more improvements and bug fixes to multiplayer. You can now play with like-minded people, if you want to play competitive then you can now select this option when matchmaking and join a world with people who also want to play competitive.
  • 3 new Trophies and achievements
  • Drive through a Gas Station and repair your car on the fly.
  • A variety of tweaks and improvements including AI, player feedback, Gameplay and World
  • Fixed a couple of bugs for Eddie’s challenge
  • Multiple stability fixes
