Dragon Age Writer David Gaider Leaves BioWare After 17 Years

January 22, 2016 by Stephen Daly

Gaider had been working on the developer’s new IP.

Dragon Age lead writer David Gaider has departed studio BioWare after 17 years at the developer.

Gaider made the announcement on Twitter today.

Some news: I must sadly announce that, after 17 years, today is my last day at BioWare. I'll miss my team, and wish everyone here the best.

Following the completion of Dragon Age: Inquisition and its DLC, Gaider had transitioned to BioWare's unannounced new IP. Producer Cameron Lee says the project has not been affected by Gaider's departure.

I'm sad that @davidgaider is leaving BioWare, he'll be greatly missed! Rest assured that development on #BioWare's New IP continues unabated

Gaider added that it "will be awesome".

During his time at BioWare Gaider worked on Baldur's Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, and Dragon Age: Inquisition. We wish Gaider all the best for whatever he does next and look forward to seeing it.
