Twilight Princess HD Amiibo Compatibility Confirmed

January 21, 2016 by Stephen Daly

Nintendo also announces new Animal Crossing amiibo and more.

Nintendo has announced that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD for Wii U will feature amiibo functionality, with the Wolf Link amiibo opening the Cave of Shadows.

In a press release today the company said, "purchasing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD and Wolf Link amiibo bundle will currently be the only way to get this amiibo figure." Every copy of the game is a bundle which includes the figure.

The company has also confirmed that a new range of Animal Crossing amiibos will be released in March, with Digby being available as a standalone figure.

Timmy & Tommy (as one figure), Rover, and Kapp'n will all be available on March 18th. The previously announced Ryu, Roy, and R.O.B. (Famicom colours) figures are also set for release in March.

Mario & Sonic amiibos will be compatible with the 3DS title Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games from March 18th. In-game characters can boost their outfits for the day using the amiibos.
