Pokken Tournament’s Newest Fighter To Be Revealed Next Week, Devs Share Odd Clue

January 8, 2016 by Ryan Parreno

Yes, this Pokemon’s Japanese name uses that mysterious Japanese r sound.

Bandai Namco and The Pokemon Company has teased a new incoming Pokken Tournament character. It will be revealed this time next week.

Once again, they shared a clue to the Pokemon’s identity for hardcore Pokemon fans to try and guess who it could be. This time, the clue is the Japanese letter ra, alternately pronounced as la. (PS: If you’ve always been curious about that Japanese r sound, you can watch this video).

Based on this, our source guesses it could either be Koratta, AKA Rattata, or Toranseru, known in English as Metapod. Other candidates that use the Japanese letter include:

·         Raichu

·         Vileplum

·         Kadabra

·         Slowbro

·         Hitmonchan

·         Scyther

And more. Got any guesses on who it might be? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.

Pokken Tournament will be released on Wii U in Japan on March 18 and North America and Europe in spring 2016.
