Some outlets may have leaked early the release date for upcoming open world shooter Mafia 3.
A preorder card from a Best Buy store and the Gamestop listing for the same game shared an availability date set at April 26, 2016. Gamestop has revised their listing since then to show December 31, 2016.
Of course, the evidence was credible enough that 2K felt compelled to comment on these leaks. You can read their statement below.
Mafia 3 will release in calendar 2016 during Take-Two Interactive’s fiscal year 2017. No official release date has been announced at this time. It is common practice for retailers to list placeholder dates before an official release date has been announced due to the requirements of their operating systems.
Whether Mafia 3 is releasing on April or not, we already know for sure it will be out before the year ends. With the long gap between this and the last Mafia game, some fans may feel it can’t come soon enough.
Mafia 3 is releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Would you be satisfied with the game releasing on this date? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
