BioWare Developer Gives Some Details on Mass Effect Andromeda’s First Hour

January 6, 2016 by Stephen Daly

‘I got to shoot things in the face.’

Mass Effect Andromeda is set for release later this year and development appears to going well, with a BioWare developer revealing some details about the game's first hour over the weekend.

Cameron Lee, who is attached to the studio's new IP and last worked as a producer on Dragon Age Inquisition, didn't give too much away but says he almost tweeted a picture of the game's executable, which would have revealed its original codename.

You can read what he said about his experience in the series of tweets below.

Just finished playing the first hour of Mass Effect: Andromeda… #DevPerk

@BioFanOfficial I'm not familiar enough with the dev work to say, plus I was kind of distracted with our New IP work going on around me 🙂

@Strider_3029 lol and I almost tweeted a picture of the executable too, but that would have given away its old code name 😉

Chris Wynn, the game's development director, recently departed the studio.

Mass Effect Andromeda will have a new human protagonist, who is believed to be called 'Ryder'. The soldier who appeared in the game's E3 trailer is not the new playable character.

The game is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
