The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences will be inducting Kojima into their Hall of Fame at this year’s DICE Awards. To punctuate the point even further, presenting the award to him is filmmaker and personal friend Guillermo Del Toro.
This is the statement coming from the AIAS:
As one of the most well-loved and well-respected designers of our time, it is a great honour for the Academy to induct him into our Hall of Fame. Hideo is a game creator whose eyes have always looked towards the future, and we look forward to his thoughts on the DICE Summit stage.
Kojima very recently left longtime employer Konami, and has now opened a new studio, using his studio’s old name, Kojima Productions. Among his upcoming projects are a project made in collaboration with Sony, and also an unspecified project with Del Toro.
Are you looking forward to seeing Del Toro present Kojima his Hall of Fame award? Do you hope to get more details on their unnamed project? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
