The Banner Saga is Coming to Vita After All as Sony Steps In

December 23, 2015 by Stephen Daly

Sony has partnered with the game’s publisher to help develop the port.

Stoic Studios' The Banner Saga seems set for release on PlayStation Vita after all, with the developer being helped along by Sony's third party production team.

A tweet from Sony's Gio Corsi said the platform holder is stepping in to help publisher Versus Evil with the Vita version.

Great news! We're partnering with @vs_evil to continue work on #BannerSaga #Vita. More news in 2016. Happy Holidays! pic.twitter.com/txbawVDqpb

Last week Stoic announced that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of The Banner Saga are to be released on January 12th, 2016 but were silent on the long-promised Vita port.

On the game's forums, Stoic's founder and technical director said the Vita version was being placed on the back burner due to a limited budget and small development team but it seems Sony has stepped in to salvage production.

Corsi noted that more news on the Vita can be expected in 2016.
