Sony has unveiled the details of the latest Gran Turismo 7 update. The 1.17 update will add three new cars, the famous Watkins Glen International circuit, and three new menus to the Gran Turismo cafe. The update is part of Polyphony Digital’s attempts to appease Gran Turismo 7 owners who were unhappy with the game upon release, so much so that Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of Gran Turismo, offered a rare apology to players shortly after launch. With the addition of Watkins Glen and the new menus, Polyphony Digital is making good on the promise to start adding more events and more world circuits. Here’s a breakdown of what Polyphony Digital is including in the new update.

Cars

  • Suzuki V6 Escudo Pikes Peak Special ’98
  • Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.3 Version)
  • 1932 Ford Roadster

Gran Turismo Cafe – Extra Menus

  • Toyota 86 Collection: Opens at Collector Level 20
  • Honda Type R Collection: Opens at Collector Level 20
  • Rotary Engine Collection: Opens at Collector Level 32

World Circuits

  • Watkins Glen International circuit

To celebrate the release of the new update, Polyphony Digital released a short trailer showing off the cars and the new circuit. Check that out below.

Although the update is a step in the right direction, Polyphony Digital still hasn’t fixed some of the bigger issues fans have raised since launch. Players still can’t sell cars (a staple of the series), and the game’s payouts are still lacking. We’ll have to wait for the full patch notes to be released to see what other changes Polyphony has made to the game.

The Gran Turismo 7 1.17 update will go live for most of the world on June 23. The update will be available at 3pm JST, 8am CEST, 7am BST, 2am EST, and 11pm PST on June 22.
