Square Enix have announced that the third and final installment of Final Fantasy XIII, Lightning Returns: FF13 will release on PC on December 10. In the game, Lightning must save the world in 13 days or less. The game runs in accelerated real time, and the acceleration is faster on higher difficulties. It also allows more freedom of movement and a stance switching system as well. The game will cost $19.99 USD/ £12.99. A couple months ago, it was revealed the title would release before the end of the year.
Originally, Lightning Returns was supposed to release earlier this year during the Spring, but the game was delayed. While earlier entries in the FFXIII saga had technical issues on PC, hopefully the day for this title hints at a mostly bug-free release this time around. The PC release will come with almost all of the game’s costume and weapon DLC from the console editions. It will only miss the FFVII Aerith DLC pack. The game originally launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013 in Japan, and 2014 in Europe and North America. The title sold well, while receiving mixed reviews from critics. While most enjoyed the revamped battle system, many thought the quests and story were sub-par.
Lightning Returns: FF13 will release for PC on December 10, 2015.
