Some people take fan art to a whole new level. While the rest of us were over here making our lame Sonic the Hedgehog fanzines when we were twelve (you too, right?), sculptor Ian Ulmer was busy creating these custom DOOM action figures.
It's hard to believe these were made by hand. It’s even harder to believe that he can make these quickly enough to sell them on Etsy. The crazy part is that while an officially licensed action figure like this would cost a ton of money, Ulmer’s are only $20. He makes other sculptures as well, like this terrifying and awesome Venom wall art. It’s difficult not to admire his attention to detail and dedication to the game’s fandom. Here’s hoping that the game’s release brings him a surge of new sales.
If you’re finding it hard to contain your excitement in anticipation of the upcoming DOOM release, take a look at some of his work to tide you over. They'd probably make great holiday gifts.
DOOM will be available in early 2016 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. There is no official release date yet, but you can get a sneak peek at the game in the upcoming beta and alpha tests. All players who pre-ordered or bought Wolfenstein: The New Order on or before May 26, 2014 will be able to participate in the DOOM beta.
