Are you a fan of CRYENGINE? Do you happen to have the Oculus Rift? Crytek has laid out a treat for you.
Available now is Back to Dinosaur Island, the sequel to the 1999 CRYENGINE demo X-Isle. Both demos are meant to demonstrate the power of the game engine.
As you might have guessed, there is a huge catch; you do need Oculus Rift to really experience it. Still, Crytek was generous enough to give fans a peek at what the VR experience looks like with the video above.
For those who remember X-Isle, there’s definitely huge differences in presentation and execution. Rather than show off multiple little effects, all of Back to Dinosaur Island is a cramped affair, but of course, the point was to demonstrate VR as its own experience.
