Those who have pre-purchased Fallout 4 on PC/Steam can get to downloading the game now in preparation for the launch on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 12:01 a.m. ET, as reported by Polygon.
The game requires 23.8 GB of free hard drive space, but pre-loading the game ensures those that wish to start playing as soon as the game unlocks at its designated release date (see above) can do so by downloading the game in its entirety. After that, it’s a simple agonizing matter of waiting for the game to unlock at the stroke of midnight (if you’re in the Eastern Time Zone, that is).
If you purchased the game through a third-party seller you will need to consult that seller to find out when you will be delivered your Steam key or other downloadable method for Fallout 4. Ed. note: this writer acquired their Fallout 4 Steam key through a third-party seller, but has yet to be given their key to begin the download.
Fallout 4 will be available on Nov. 10 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. If you’re looking for ways to pass the time until then, you can watch the launch trailer for the game on repeat, spend time customizing your character’s stats the way you want them with this unofficial character creator, or sit back and relax with the entire Fallout 4 soundtrack, which is now available on iTunes.
