Saints Row is the first new game in the popular franchise since the release of Saints Row IV in 2013. Fans have been waiting for years for a proper follow-up to the successful fourth game. After nearly a decade, Saints Row developer Volition announced Saints Row at Gamescom in 2021. The new game will act as a reboot for the series as Volition tries to tone down some of the more wacky aspects that the games had become known for. When will Saints Row be released?
Saints Row will be released on August 23, 2022. When the game was announced at Gamescom in 2021, it came with a release date of February 25, 2022. However, developer Volition later delayed the game to this summer, citing a need to fine tune and polish the game ahead of its release.
With just a few weeks to go until launch, expect to see Volition and publisher Deep Silver reveal more about the game soon. Fans who want to get into the game early can do so now with the free character creator that was released during Summer Game Fest.
