Although Blizzard has not confirmed any of these details, Redditor /u/Rintoothetiger reported that their local Gamestop is offering an Overwatch Origins Edition. “It cost 40$ and they give you a code to input on battle.net,” they wrote. Upon inputting the code, the site displays a message indicating that the user is redeeming Overwatch for PC. However, the game did not show up in /u/Rintoothetiger’s library yet. The user uploaded pictures of the receipt and instructions as proof.
There are several possibilities for what the Origins Edition may be. The game could still be free to play, but people may have to pay for characters, the way that Team Fortress 2’s free-to-play version has restrictions to encourage players to get the paid version. The Origins Edition could just be some kind of all-encompassing version that includes all of the elements that must be bought.
There's a chance, based on the game's online description on UK-based retailer GAME, that the Origins Edition contains the following:
- 21 Heroes
- 5 skins: Blackwatch Reyes (Reaper), Strike-Commander Morrison (Soldier: 76), Overgrown Bastion, Security Chief Pharah, Slipstream Tracer
- Overwatch-themed content for several Blizzard Entertainment games: Heroes of the Storm™ – Tracer Hero, World of Warcraft® – Baby Winston Pet, StarCraft® II Portraits, Hearthstone® Cardback, Diablo® III – Mercy Wings
Other Redditors have reported their experiences after visiting Gamestop to get the Origins Edition: some people paid $60 instead of $40 and others claimed to have received posters with their copy. A few even mentioned getting beta access with the game, although Blizzard has confirmed via Twitter that no beta invite waves will occur until after BlizzCon.

It looks like we’ll have to wait for BlizzCon to get any more concrete details about Overwatch. The game is set to launch Spring 2016 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
