Burnout Paradise Confirmed for Xbox One Backward Compatibility

October 26, 2015 by Stephen Daly

Not clear when it will be available, however.

Developer Criterion has confirmed that the Xbox 360 version of Burnout Paradise will be backward compatible with the Xbox One.

While the game will be playable on the new console, there's no word on exactly when it's going to arrive.

"It's in the pipe, five-by-five," Criterion confirmed on its Twitter account. "Stay tuned for a date though."

Microsoft is set to rollout the backward compatibility feature to everyone on Xbox One later this year and more than 100 games will be available from day one. DLC, multiplayer, and cloud saves are all supported by the feature. Those in the Xbox One preview programme can try out many of the game right now.

Burnout Paradise was originally released in 2008 and was supported by Criterion for a year, before the developer moved on to EA's Need for Speed franchise. While that series has adopted much of Burnout's style over the years, there hasn't been a new entry in the series in over seven years.
