EA has announced two special ships, Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon and Boba Fett’s Slave I, for the game’s fighter squadron mode. While the mode had been detailed during the summer, these two vehicles were only hinted at until today. In addition to reliving the magic of the Star Wars movies on the ground, you will also be able to do so in the air. The two ships are acquired through pickups on Fighter Squadron maps, and appear to the mode’s equivalent to the Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader characters in Walker Assault.
Boba Fett’s iconic ship is, according to EA, is an “arsenal heavy craft…equipped with Ion Cannons, Proton Torpedoes, and a jammer that can be activated to fly undetected on the mini-map and to avoid missile locks.” Senior Designer Björn Sundell advises players to remember they are not invincible while they play as Fett or Solo: “During playtests we've noticed how excited players get to be the one taking down the Millennium Falcon or Slave I. You should always keep both offence and defense in mind.”
Dice’s upcoming revival of the beloved Battlefront franchise is highly anticipated. The developer revealed last week that over 9.5 million users had played 1.6 billion minutes in the public beta.
Star Wars Battlefront releases on November 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
