Vigor Chronicles: Absolution Update Launches Today

June 1, 2022 by Alexandra Nicholson

The latest major update for free-to-play looter-shooter game Vigor launches today and players will be excited to discover a variety of new content to sink their time into. Vigor Chronicles: Absolution introduces a new story into the post-war Norway-based adventure, which builds upon the lore introduced back in the game’s last update Vigor Chronicles: Vengeance, which came out last November.

Check out the latest trailer for Vigor Chronicles: Absolution right here to get a feel for the new update.

The new story revolves around some pretty gritty subject matter, promising more mysterious themes along the lines of morality and personal values, as well as how easily one can let go of them in a post-apocalyptic world. Vigor’s Brand Manager, Filip Stastny, explained a bit more about the premise behind Vigor Chronicles: Absolution in a press release.

This is a story that will eventually provide a lot of information that wasn’t mentioned anywhere before. It will also make the players question the choices made by the characters and see if they would react the same way in that situation. It’s super interesting to listen to, and thought-provoking as well.

The update also introduces a new Elimination map as well as an overhaul to the whole Elimination game mode, as well as new weapons and consumables, notably the L86A1 LSW machine gun and a radioactive grenade. Looks like Vigor’s 14,700,000 strong player base will have to get used to things going nuclear in Norway.

The new update will include the following.

  • Brand new Battle Pass of Chronicles: Absolution, extended to 75 levels
  • Overhaul of Elimination game mode
  • New Elimination map: Fish Factory
  • Special issue weapon L86A1 LSW
  • Radioactive grenade
  • New cassette tapes (available in POIs in Encounters)
  • Reworking of machine guns
  • Reroll available for Challenges

Vigor is available now and is free-to-play on Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. You can read more about the new update over on the Vigor website.
