In a new free update to Payday 2, Overkill Software is bringing a fresh set of guns and some snazzy new suits to dress 'em up in. The Black Market, which is explored in greater detail in the trailer above, will offer up Vlad's safes as a way to gamble your way to a weapon boost. Each safe, which can only be opened with a special drill, will be awarded randomly at the end of heists and will award the player with a weapon skin, which may be Legendary or offer other stat-boosting effects, like improving stability or making the gun easier to conceal.
The game will also soon be hosted on Steam Workshop and players will be allowed to design and upload their own weapon skin creations for sharing within the PC community. Additionally, during the next ten days of Crimefest, Payday 2 and all of its DLC is 75% off, with Payday 2 free to play, and and Payday: The Heist and its DLC also 90% off. There is no release date yet assigned to the Black Market update or the Steam Workshop functionality, but you can read more about it and see some examples of the skins over at the official site.
