Key Ms. Marvel Actor Praises The Series For Fun and Inclusion

May 25, 2022 by Todd Black

“I feel so seen”

Ms. Marvel
After being in the MCU for so long, you might feel that everything that “everything has been done”, but that’s not even close to being true. There are all sorts of stories and characters left to show off, and one of them is coming this year in Ms. Marvel. The story of Kamala Khan is going to be important in a variety of ways, and if you don’t believe us, you can ask one of its actors.

Actor Saagar Shaikh is the one we’re talking about, and he has some very poignant things to say about the show and what it’s all about:

“Expect magic. It’s just so heartwarming,” Shaikh, who plays Kamala’s older brother Amir Khan in the show “I recently got to watch the first couple of episodes, and it had my heart fluttering. It was pulling at those heartstrings. It’s just such a cool show.”

He adds that he “just feel[s] so seen” as the show really delves into a Pakistan-family who are also Muslim in their faith, both of which will be on display in the series:

“It’s great. There’s so many references that my parents would get, and I don’t think my parents could watch any other show and just relate to it as much as we can relate to a show like this,” Shaikh said. “It’s incredible.”
While you’re always going to hear the “puff talk” about the show and “how great it is”, it’s clear here that this series truly means something to Shaikh and the community that they are a part of. And that’s pretty awesome.

Here’s the official synopsis for Ms. Marvel:

“An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination-particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home-that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?”
