Open-World Survival Horror Game P.A.M.E.L.A. Receives Greenlight on Steam

October 1, 2015 by Michael Fossbakk

Will be released in 2016.

P.A.M.E.L.A., an independent, open-world, survival horror game, has been greenlit on Valve’s Steam Greenlight service, developer NVYVE Studios announced today.

After climbing to the number one spot on Steam Greenlight 48 hours after launching on the service where users vote up or down which games they’d like to see get a full release on Steam’s official storefront, P.A.M.E.L.A. was officially greenlit 10 days after it was unveiled.

The game seeks to blend all manner of genre, from sci-fi to horror with a utopian society turned dystopian narrative (BioShock, anyone?). Players will play from the perspective of “a Sleeper,” someone has just awoke from cryosleep in Eden, the game’s fictional city that was once a utopian paradise, but now houses citizens, known as the Afflicted, who have an unfortunate disease plaguing their body and mind.

“With a personality-driven AI system, no encounter will be the same as the Afflicted react in unpredictable ways, driven by their excruciating pain and disfiguring disease,” reads a press release. “Interact with various factions, including the Afflicted citizens, security droids, robotic custodians, and more. Each faction has its own unique behaviors and alliances, and will react dynamically to the player’s behavior to become allies, or enemies.”

The game will also feature “an array of modular equipment” that can be wielded and customized to your liking. “Bio-Augmentations” can be acquired, but NVYVE warns that these augmentations will come at a cost. “Every decision has consequences in Eden,” the press release reads.
