Resident Evil: Code Veronica X HD launches, has trailer

September 27, 2011 by Karol Sultanescu

How to make a remastered version 101: Bump up texture resolution, add achievements/trophies, call it HD, sell on console markets, profit. Capcom knows this lesson and applies it.

Resident Evil is famous for being one of the very first survival-horror games. It’s equally infamous for having bad voice acting, but I suppose we’ll let that slide. Resident Evil: Code Veronica was no different, and neither is this remastered version released on the Xbox Games on Demand store and PlayStation Network.

The launch trailer that came out today is standard fare for Resident Evil—it features guns, shotguns, girls wielding said guns and shotguns, targets for the bullets that come out of said guns and shotguns, as well as some aeronautical equipment either taking off or exploding. One thing this trailer lacks is zombies. Resident Evil without zombies? There are quite a few mutated things to take their place anyway.

You can see some gameplay footage over here.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica X HD is out now on the Xbox Games on Demand store and the PlayStation Network.
