Star Trek fans around the world rejoice because there will be a brand-new video game coming out in October that is based on the Netflix series Star Trek: Prodigy. This new game will be called Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova and will be getting released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Google Stadia, with the release date looking at being the 14th of October 2022.
You can watch a trailer of this new game below.
You might not have heard of Star Trek: Prodigy before, and if you haven’t, then we have all the details right here. It follows a group of teenagers who find an abandoned spaceship that they decide to use for their own exploration adventures across the vast universe. Although, it’s not all plane sailing because they soon land in trouble when the vessel’s owner returns and wants the spaceship back.
Star Trek: Prodigy is an animated show that is aimed at kids, but it is Star Trek after all, and Trekkies of all ages and sizes will still enjoy this. The series has been fairly successful as well since it first aired in 2021, with fans and critics giving it some stellar reviews.
But let us now talk about the game that will be following the series. When the Protostar’s malfunctioning transporter scatters the crew across three alien planets, Dal and Gwyn must use their wits and skills to overcome ingenious puzzles, endure hostile environments, as well as battle the deadliest of robots, in the hopes of rescuing the rest of their crew.
As expected though, whilst searching for their friends they discover a sinister and deadly new enemy, one that will do everything it can to destroy the crew’s ship, aiming to change the course of history. It’s never straightforward in the Star Trek universe is it, but this concept could very well be one that is worth experiencing.
