WWE and 2K Sports shared a kickass new trailer for WWE 2K16.
The trailer is a mix of the old and the new. While it starts off with a great look at Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar, and goes on to show off some of the company’s biggest superstars, it keeps cutting back to Stone Cold Steve Austin. Attention is paid to recreating some of Austin’s best and most memorable moments, with the likes of The Rock, The Undertaker, Mick Foley, and Vincent K Mcmahon.
Legends shown off in the trailer include Bam Bam Bigelow, Diamond Dallas Page, Bret Hart and the Ultimate Warrior. Fans may remember Bret also had a memorable feud with Austin, so the lack of a reference to that was a bit curious.
Among the active Superstars you can see in action are Eva Marie, Kevin Owens, Adrian Neville, Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, and of course, John Cena and HHH. Funnily enough, we don’t see Austin pull a stunner on HHH either. We do see the trailer end with the cameo of the Terminator, from whom Steve Austin definitely took some inspiration aesthetic and attitude wise.
WWE 2K16 will be released on October 27, 2015 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Check out the trailer here.
