Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Will Offer DX12 Support on Day One

September 18, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is set to offer support for DX12 upon launch for the PC.

The upcoming cyberpunk game from Eidos Montreal, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, will come with support for DX12 at its launch. It's slated for release on the PC, alongside the PS4 and Xbox One, in early 2016.

Speaking to AMD's Chief Gaming Scientist, Richard Huddy, PC hardware enthusiast website TweakTown learned that the game will come with extensive support for AMD's visual technologies, including TressFX Hair 3.0. An earlier version of that technology made it into Tomb Raider.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will support DX12 on day one, and will perhaps be the first game to do so. Though there are game engines that support DX12, most if not all current titles on the PC use DX11.

Huddy also confirmed that the game will come with a built-in benchmark so gamers will be able to test out their hardware's capabilities and compare them with others.
