As part of its first-ever games showcase, publisher 505 Games has revealed a brand new action RPG that will be heading to PC and consoles in 2023. Stray Blade is being developed by Point Blank Games and will feature plenty of exciting-looking hack and slash combat action during players’ adventures in the magical world of the Valley of Acrea.
In Stray Blade, players will find themselves taking on the role of a lost-in-a-magical-world anthropologist adventurer whose role it becomes to restore the Valley of Acrea to its former glory. Also, he has an adorable little wolf in a scarf, named Boji, as his companion on his adventures. What’s not to love?
505 Games showcased an early gameplay trailer for Stray Blade as part of its Spring Showcase, which you can check out right here to get a feel for the combat and style of the upcoming action RPG.
There’s no denying that Stray Blade looks visually stunning and the combat looks pretty challenging for an open-world RPG, with the enemies shown in the footage wielding some pretty mighty-looking weaponry and armour. However, players will be able to make use of Boji during combat too, as the feisty little fox will also have his own skill tree for players to customise as they level up through the game. Check out more on the game’s combat in this new trailer.
There’s no definitive window for the release of Stray Blade yet, but we do know that it will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and Series X and PC at some point in 2023. The fact it’s been included in the Spring Showcase suggests that hopefully, it may be in the earlier part of 2023 than later, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
Players can also sign up now to take part in the Stray Blade beta test over on the official website.
