Dead by Daylight Adds Resident Evil and Attack on Titan Content

May 18, 2022 by Carley Garcia

The first Resident Evil chapter launched during the game’s fifth anniversary celebration.

Since 2016, the asymmetric survival horror game Dead by Daylight has provided consistent updates for its perpetually terrified fanbase. It seems like every few weeks, the game announces a new crossover with a popular horror franchise. Now, the game is ready to shake things up with its first-ever anime collaboration, adding Attack on Titan cosmetics in honor of the game’s 6th anniversary.

More cosplay than content, fans of the globally-popular series will be able to snag skins for Zarina, Dwight, and the Oni. These are inspired by Eren, Hange, and a very shrunken-down Armored Titan.

Announced during the Dead By Daylight 6th anniversary broadcast, the game will also be adding a second Resident Evil chapter. The previous crossover took place during the fifth anniversary, adding Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine as survivors with Nemesis as a killer. Though this addition was welcomed by players, the launch was rocky, with the Raccoon City Police Department map causing issues and being unavailable for some time after launch.

The new chapter, Resident Evil: PROJECT W, promises the return of Dr. Albert Wesker. Check out the teaser trailer.

The 6th-anniversary event also announced a Dead By Daylight dating sim, Hooked On You.

Earlier this month, a Reddit post leaked content related to the game’s sixth-anniversary chapter. This included the incredibly creepy new killer, The Dredge, which looks very similar to a monster from Amnesia. The creature will have the ability to teleport into lockers, which have until this point served as safe hiding spots for survivors.

Dead by Daylight was originally released for the PC in 2016. In 2017, the game made its way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and was added to the Nintendo Switch library in 2019. The new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S editions were released in November 2020. It is also available on iOS and Android devices.

A Dead by Daylight board game, developed by Level 99, was announced in March.
