Shigeru Miyamoto and his team at Nintendo have confirmed that Pikmin 4 is in the works.
In a July interview with Eurogamer, Miyamoto revealed that development of the game was "actually very close to completion." News of the game's development was also confirmed by Nintendo in a statement: "We can confirm that Pikmin 4 is in development, but that is all we can confirm at present."
We're unsure as to why the publication chose not to reveal this information for two months.
Miyamoto did not revealed whether the game is in development for the Nintendo Wii U or the Nintendo NX, but there's a good chance it'll be out for the current-gen platform due to its advanced stage of development.
The previous game in the series, Pikmin 3, came out in mid-2013 for the Wii U.
