Snowy biomes—and who doesn't love biomes?—will be getting the addition of snowmen, courtesy of Notch. Snowmen aside, Notch has also announced that Minecraft 1.9 is now available! At least a pre-release version of it is. But hey, that's still pretty big news.
Notch says that the new snowmen will actually come to life—like Frosty the Snowman—and follow you around. I just pray there's no Jack Frost variety of deranged snowmen, though that'd admittedly make a cool addition to the game's ensemble of creepy monsters.
The biggest addition that Minecraft 1.9 will bring are non-player characters, who will populate the ghost towns with their NPC selves.
