Modern Warfare 2 Reveal Date Set For June

May 6, 2022 by John McDonald

The nostalgia is flooding back.

It is looking at being one of the biggest releases of the year, and the news is that the Modern Warfare 2 reveal date is looking likely to be in June. Infinity Ward is back in the hot seat for this game, and this remastered version of the classic title will hope to kick start some life back into the flagging franchise.

The reveal is expected to take the form of a standard reveal trailer that has become the norm with Call of Duty games, and the footage is looking to only show the game’s campaign. But the reveal trailer is just the beginning because sources tell us that the campaign gameplay is expected to be revealed “at an event when E3 was meant to be”, which is looking like one of the many summer game festivals like Summer Games Fest.

If it is to be Summer Games Fest then that would be perfect; the event takes place on June 9th, and with the trailer reveal set for some time in the first week of June, it would be an ideal turnaround to then see some gameplay footage.

But you must be wondering, the campaign was and will be great of course, but when will we get to see some multiplayer action? Well, a reveal date for the multiplayer mode will likely be some time in August – they are definitely keeping us all waiting, keeping us all eager too.

Modern Warfare 2 has not actually been officially announced by Infinity Ward just yet, but they have offered cryptic clues as to what they have been planning this whole time. With all the disappointment surrounding Vanguard, and Warzone to an extent, the plan of action was always looking at trying to reinvigorate the famed Modern Warfare series, and with the original game getting a remastered release just a few years ago, and the success that release had, it makes perfect sense to do it all over again with this title.

So keep an eye out for that Modern Warfare 2 reveal at the beginning of June, just watching it will allow all that nostalgia to wash over you perfectly.
