Street Fighter V Finally Brings Back Fan Favorite R Mika

August 27, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

This time, Mika’s got her partner to back her up.

Rainbow Mika seems to have been revealed prematurely as a new character for Street Fighter 5.

Over on the PlayStation France site, R. Mika is finally back after her first and only game, Street Fighter Alpha 3.

While popular with fans, Mika was actually originally one of the lower tier characters in her own game, but Capcom seems eager to indulge her fans and bring her back as a serious contender. Mika will have some new aerial attacks, and her tag team partner Yamato Nadeshiko (originally only revealed in Capcom’s Secret Files booklets) is coming with her as a summon of sorts.

Mika’s V-Skill, Mic Performance, has her pulling out her microphone to make a loud monologue to the audience. You can hold the buttons to make this move more powerful. Mic Performance works as a parry of sorts, and Mika cancel anytime, throwing the mic in the process and setting up for fierce followups.

Mika’s V-Trigger is Nadeshiko herself, who will now do the special moves she used to do. Nadeshiko will grab the opponent to execute either a body splash, front dropkick, or dropkick from behind. These are setups for more attacks from Mika too.

Are you looking forward to playing Mika? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.

Street Fighter 5 is planned for release on PC and PlayStation 4 in 2016. Check out some more screenshots of the lovely brawler below.
