Play The Elder Scrolls Online For Free Until April 26th

April 18, 2022 by Alexandra Nicholson

The Elder Scrolls Online is currently free to play from now until April 26th. A free trial of the base game will be available alongside the popular Morrowind DLC, which Bethesda announced would be free for players to try out earlier this month. The DLC had previously only been accessible for players who held a subscription to ESO Plus, but as of earlier this month, Bethesda has encouraged all players of The Elder Scrolls Online to visit the home of the Dark Elves for free.

Alongside the free play window for the base game of The Elder Scrolls Online, PC players, in particular, can take advantage of some major discounts on the game’s various DLC packages, as well as base game purchase price if they wish to continue their adventures past the end of the free trial window. Over on Steam, the base game has a 70% discount running, with a 67% discount on a package deal for The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood. This package includes the base game, plus the Blackwood, Greymoor, Elsweyr, Summerset, and Morrowind Chapters.

As part of the free trial, players can access every base game story zone (23 in total) as well as the Morrowind area of Vvardenfell. In addition to this, as reported in NME, players will also be able to test out the prologue quest for the game’s upcoming High Isle expansion, which is set to launch in June.

With all this free access up for grabs, there’s never been a better time for players to give this epic fantasy roleplaying adventure a try. Especially as the new chapter in the game’s long-running story is about to get underway, and promises to bring a wealth of new adventures and features into the highly-popular MMORPG.

The Elder Scrolls Online is available now on PC, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Stadia (in limited territories).
