The first screenshots of Dragon Quest 11: In Search of Departed Time have appeared online and offer a glimpse of what is to be expected from the Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 4, and possibly the mysterious Nintendo NX.
Dragon Quest 11: In Search of Departed Time was announced last month alongside an announcement of Dragon Quest 10 coming to Nintendo’s future NX platform. At the time, Square Enix also said that it is considering the NX for Dragon Quest 11, but for now the title is only confirmed to be appearing on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo has yet to make an official announcement with details concerning the Nintendo NX, a codename used to refer to the platform. Theories as to what the NX will be range from an all-digital platform to a console/handheld hybrid.
The screenshots below are the first look at the game in action and include both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS screenshots.
Dragon Quest 11: In Search of Departed Time is slated for a 2016 release date in Japan only. It should be noted that this does not indicate a release window for the Nintendo NX, as the game could end up never coming to the platform or simply miss the 2016 release date for the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 4 versions.
