Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Beta Details Revealed

August 12, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

If there’s anything noteworthy here, it’s the lack of Arena at any point of the beta.

Following the release of the reveal trailer, Activision has shared more details on Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s multiplayer beta.

The beta goes live on August 19 on PlayStation 4, and then on August 26 on Windows and Xbox One.

There will be three maps:

·         Hunted, set in Ethiopia, is found under a waterfall, and offers rugged terrain, and underwater pathway, and long, long sightlines.

·         Combine is placed in the Egyptian sahara, in a vertical framing and sustainability research facility. This map is defined by tight interiors, but has a more open center, and a flank path.

·         Evac is found in Singapore’s quarantine zone, which has suffered flooding. It is an abandoned emergency evacuation zone on the rooftops.  Sound familiar? Yes, it sounds like Flooded, a map from Call of Duty Ghosts.

These will be the available modes:

·         Team Deathmatch

·         Domination

·         Demolition

·         Kill Confirmed

·         Hardpoint

·         Capture the Flag

·         Search & Destroy

If there’s anything noteworthy here, it’s the lack of Arena at any point of the beta.

There is a weapon paintshop, allowing fans to paint, and hereby customize, both sides of their weapons.

They will be revealing a large number of Specialists, including Ruin, Outrider, Prophet, Battery, Seraph, Nomad, Reaper, and Spectre. This lineup is noteworthy for diversity, across gender and ethnic lines.

Finally, the beta will have gated progression caps, and Activision claims this is to facilitate how they test their servers.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be released on November 6, 2015, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows.
