Hideo Kojima may be well known for his work on the Metal Gear series, but his lesser-known Zone of the Enders is no less compelling, and it's a crying shame that it hasn't received as much love from either the public or its publisher.
All that may be about to change with an announcement from Kojima that he's creating a HD re-release of Zone of the Enders, which is planned for sometime in 2012. It will be released alongside a box set of anime based on ZOE, which comes out in the Summer.
Not one to neglect Metal Gear in any way, Kojima is also planning to release Metal Gear Snake Eater 3D in early 2012, hopefully during the Winter.
Kojima may have once expressed the hope that could distance himself from the Metal Gear series to pursue other endeavors, but judging from the series' popularity, it's going to be some time yet before that happens.
