Rumor: This Could Mean Destiny Is Coming To PC

August 5, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

The game could go to even more platforms, of course, as Bungie hopes to meet their dream of supporting the game over the next decade.

Bungie has revealed a new job opening that everyone is (understandably) interpreting as a sign of one thing: Destiny is going to be ported to PC.

The listing is for a PC Compatibility Tester, and although it does not name Destiny, the job description is pretty clear about taking a console game and testing it to work across multiple PC configurations. Exciting job opportunity, but of course this is a challenging job as well. They’re also looking for 2 years software testing veterans willing to work 40 hour workweeks, so this will be a long term project.

It really should not take that much to reach this conclusion. Bungie has revealed that they are invested in Destiny for the long haul. Their ambitions are to actually support the game for a decade. Fans have been asking for a PC port from the start, and since it’s been out on PlayStation and Xbox consoles for some time now, this is Bungie’s best bet to continue selling the game and expanding its user base.

Certainly, with Windows 10 just being released, Steam Machines creeping closer, and even Nintendo’s NX looming on the horizon, Bungie is positioned well to prepare to creep Destiny over to newer platforms and more players. Here and now, however, the question is; will you play Destiny on PC? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
