With the news of E3 being cancelled completely for this year still ringing in a lot of people’s ears, there’s some good news for fans of games showcase events. PC Gamer has today announced that the PC Gaming Show for this year will still be going ahead. The showcase event will take place on Sunday, June 12th and will be broadcast alongside other events taking place over that weekend.
The PC Gaming show is now in its seventh year, having started back in 2015. According to its organisers at PC Gamer, the idea behind the showcase event was to bring together “the disparate forces that comprise the hobby under one roof, shining a light on the vibrancy of the open gaming platform.” Ever since its inception, the PC Gaming Show has become a firm fixture in the summer games showcase calendar and it seems that this year will be no exception.
There’ll be plenty of exciting news to keep an eye on at this year’s showcase event. As explained in today’s update, we can look forward to some new features and updates from the world of PC gaming.
The event will showcase never-before-seen gameplay footage, surface interesting conversations with developers, and share announcements from across the world of PC gaming. We’ve already been talking with studios about their upcoming games and exciting announcements.

Other events that should run alongside the PC Gaming Show over the same mid-June period include the Future Games Show’s summer showcase. Additionally, Summer Games Fest will also return in June, presumably over the same weekend as its companion events.
While it’s not yet known which developers, games and other industry insiders will be taking part in this year’s PC Gaming Show, it’s good to know that the cancellation of E3 for the third consecutive year hasn’t signalled the end of other games showcase events for 2022. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more updates on these events as we get closer to June.
