Metal Gear Solid V’s PC Version Has A New Release Date

August 4, 2015 by Vanessa Lopa

We expected delays, but this is a pleasant update.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s PC version was scheduled for a September 15 release, two weeks after it would be available for consoles. Slightly disappointing, but it’s nothing new for PC versions to be pushed back a little bit.

Looks like Konami Digital Entertainment didn’t want fans of the franchise to be unhappy, though. In an announcement on the Konami Europe website, they’ve confirmed that The Phantom Pain for PC will be released simultaneously with the console versions.

QUOTE “We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts, but all involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers.” – Tomotada Toshiro, President, Konami Digital Entertainment B.V.

That’s worth celebrating, yeah? They actually pulled through and managed to get it ready for launch day. If you pre-order your copy of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, they’ll also throw in a free copy of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. Sounds good for catching up if you missed it.

The Phantom Painmay be launching simultaneously across all platforms, but there’s something that will be missing: Metal Gear Online. The squad-based competitive multiplayer component will not be onboard when The Phantom Pain is launched, but will be released on October 6th for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The PC version is scheduled to launch in January 2016 still.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is due out on September 1, 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
