Gran Turismo 7 Is Misleading Players On The PlayStation Store

March 22, 2022 by Matt Cook

Can it get any worse?

Gran Turismo 7 players have been review bombing the game on Metacritic due to a variety of issues they have with the game. We reported on the Metacritic score for Gran Turismo 7 yesterday. Players are angered by micro-transactions, the game being online only (followed by almost two days of downtime), and a lack of ways to earn money in the game.

One of the issues players have with being unable to efficiently earn money in Gran Turismo 7 is the inability to sell cars. Selling cars is one of the biggest aspects of previous Gran Turismo games. The feature allows players to try out different cars or sell cars they win but don’t want. It’s one of the better ways to earn credits in the games. So players were naturally upset that there’s no option to sell cars in Gran Turismo 7. However, as spotted on Reddit, Sony and Polyphony Digital are advertising the fact that players can sell cars in the game. Even though they can’t.

The misleading description can be seen on the game’s product page on the PlayStation Store. Check out the description below, the emphasis is ours.

Get behind the wheel of over 400 cars from day one – with each classic motor and bleeding-edge supercar recreated with unparalleled detail – and navigate over 90 track routes in dynamic weather conditions.

With the reintroduction of the legendary GT Simulation Mode, you can buy, tune, race and sell your way through a solo campaign as you unlock new cars and challenges.

PlayStation Store

Naturally, this has made an already upset player base even more irate. Players are obviously being misled. On its own, the snafu wouldn’t necessarily be that big of a deal. However, added to the growing list of complaints that players have, it’s a bad look for Sony and Polyphony Digital.
