Upcoming Adventure Game Fantasiam Demonstrates Power Of Unreal Engine 4

July 18, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

It’s more than the detailed graphics. You can see how well it creates a vibrant, mirthful world.

Have you ever wondered about Unreal Engine 4’s potential for visuals in a natural setting? Check out this preview of upcoming first person adventure game, Fantasiam.

Fantasiam is the work of one Belmin Kozlic, coming from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The game is planned to have a focus on puzzles and exploration, and, budget permitting, it could potentially be expanded into a full open world adventure.

The game may also have RPG elements, including an inventory system, and multiple choice quests that affect the ending. Your inventory, of course, will include items you will need to solve puzzles throughout the game, and also clues about the story. The game will be using a Slavic mythology setting.

As you can see from the trailer, Belmin isn’t just hiding trees in pitch black and calling it a day. It’s not just that the grass, rocks, and trees are highly detailed. The colors are vibrant, almost surreally so, as if someone messed with color rebalancing on the image settings and kept it there.

Fantasiam also seems to be a welcome respite from the grimdark themes of most AAAs, with a tone that’s as much full of mirth and discovery as it is of mystery.

You can watch the intriguing trailer above and look at a small image gallery below.
