Horizon Forbidden West: Main Quest List

March 7, 2022 by Peter Hunt Szpytek

Show me the main story.

Horizon Forbidden West is packed full of quests and activities to keep players occupied for hundreds of hours if they’re aiming for 100% completion, however, with the sheer number of quality titles that are being released weekly for the foreseeable future, some fans who are enjoying Forbidden West are getting ready to move on.

Horizon Forbidden West‘s story is a huge part of its experience, but knowing just how close a player is to its conclusion can be a little tricky given the number of hours someone can sink into its side content. Below is the full list of missions included in the main story for those wondering where exactly they are in the narrative.

All Quests in Horizon Forbidden West

There are 14 main quest missions in Horizon Forbidden West, one of which is the mandatory tutorial that opens the game. The mission list is as follows:

Reach for the Stars
To the Brink
The Embassy
Death’s Door
The Dying Lands
The Broken Sky
The Kulrut
Cradle of Echoes
The Sea of Sands
Seeds of the Past
Faro’s Tomb
GEMINI
The Wings of the Ten
Singularity

It’s worth pointing out that not all the missions required for beating the game’s story are listed as “Main Quest.” At select points in the Forbidden West‘s story, the player will be forced into a handful of “Interludes” that primarily serve as downtime between big action missions where a lot of exposition is given and Aloy has the chance to catch up with her friends. The list of story-mandatory interludes is as follows:

The Point of the Lance (Follows the “Reach for the Stars” main quest)
The Eye of the Earth (Follows the “The Dying Lands” main quest)
All That Remains (Follows the “GEMINI” main quest)

Horizon Forbidden West‘s interludes are essentially just extensions of some of the main quest missions but players should make sure to take them into account when gauging where they are in the story.
