Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm Now Available On Steam

July 8, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

It launches on Steam with 11 playable characters, full voice acting, a unique commentary system, and more.

After two years in development, long awaited indie fighting game Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm is now available on Steam, ready to buy directly from Steam or on Humble Bundle.

In a blog post on the official site, publisher Nyu Media founder GenkiPatton thanked fans for their support, with the original Indiegogo, the recent Thunderclap campaign, and simply for spreading word of mouth and expressing their support. He also encouraged fans to not only buy the game, but to play online. As competitive fighter Juicebox attests, the current netcode (GGPO hasn’t been applied to it yet) works very well.

Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm is a 2D fighter two years in the making, having been successfully funded on IndieGogo. The game’s developers are veterans from famed 2D fighting game developers SNK, and true to form, their latest product has all the hallmarks of a classic 90s 2D fighter, even more than a similar project from a completely new studio, Skullgirls.

In fact, Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm took the best parts of older and modern day development. The developers took a lot of feedback from their backers, but the game also went through months of location testing prior to PC release. It launches on Steam with 11 playable characters, full voice acting, a unique commentary system, and more.

You can buy Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm on Steam here and on Humble Bundle here.
