Elden Ring is almost upon us, and we finally have the PC requirements for the game. Fellow Tarnished will want to take a look at these and make sure their system is up to date and they can actually play the latest incredibly difficult title from FromSoftware with no problems or framerate drop on their systems.
In terms of the minimum required specifications, they’re as follows. You’ll need Windows 10, an Intel Core I5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3300X, 12GB of RAM, a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, 3GB or AMD Radeon RX 580, 4GB. While that’s not a massive stretch for most PC gamers, there’s several out there who may want to consider upgrading their systems so that they can play Elden Ring upon launch and not watch their PC simply burn to a husk (and no, that wasn’t a Dark Souls based pun, although looking back it was probably a missed opportunity on my part.)
Recommended specifications are a different story entirely, though. Deep breath. You’ll need Windows 11, an Intel Core I7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, 16GB RAM, a Nvidia GeFroce GTX 1070, 8GB or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56, 8GB. These are what you’ll want to play Elden Ring at a pretty decent framerate and enjoy the beautiful world that FromSoftware has created here. It’s not going to be a cheap endeavour, so hopefully you’re able to easily get the parts you need to play the game.
Regardless of your specs, you’ll need Directx 12 (Feature Level 12.0), 60GB of storage and a Windows-Compatible Audio Device as your soundcard. With Elden Ring releasing at the end of this month you’ve got roughly two weeks to get your system up to date if you want to play it on your PC at launch.
