Kingdom Come: Deliverance Releases E3 Trailer

June 18, 2015 by Vanessa Lopa

The game offers a glorious, historically-accurate open world.

Warhorse Studios’ newest project, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, is a historical RPG with a glorious open world. It’ll be a single-player experience set in the 15th century, and is set to feature historically-accurate armor, clothing, and combat techniques. After teasing that they’d be at E3, they’ve released a trailer.

The developers weren’t gunning for the biggest open world ever, but rather one that is highly detailed and accurate. They’ve even brought on board architects and historians to help them re-create real-world castles. It also boasts a dynamic ecosystem, with the player having the ability to affect everything. They can disrupt another character’s routine, or adjust and react appropriately. Players are free to explore the possibilities of this world and deviate from the main quest without being penalized.

That’s not to say that you can get away with criminal activity in the game world. NPCs are capable of suspicion and aggression, and they can report your crimes to the authorities. Your reputation can be affected by word-of-mouth here, and it’s possible for you to spend some time in jail.

Kingdom Come will make use of a classless system, so players will not be boxed into very specific roles. They can play the role of a thief, a bard, a warrior, or maybe a mix of those. The player’s abilities and stats will be determined by the choices the player makes during conversations, and all decisions have consequences, both good and bad.

The folks over at Warhorse are currently crowdfunding this project and offering early access outside of Steam and Kickstarter. If you’d like to back this project, go to the Kingdom Come website. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is expected to come out by Q2/Q3 2016 for PC, Mac, and Linux; a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release is expected at a later date.
