Genshin Impact 2.5 Update Trailer, Details Revealed

February 4, 2022 by Carley Garcia

The update arrives February 16.

The Genshin Impact 2.5 update is set to release on February 16, and a live stream held today highlighted what players can expect later this month. As has become the norm, many of the announcements had already been leaked, but not everything was old news. Most exciting for many was the concert held during the stream, showing off the free title’s impressive original score.

For those who missed the live stream, it will be soon available to watch on the Genshin Impact YouTube channel. Check out the concert portion of the program below:

As is typical with these livestreams, MiHoYo released codes to snag some free Primogems. These codes will expire today, February 4 at 11:00 PM, so snag them as soon as you can.

  • VTPU3CQWYCSD – 100 Primogems and ten Enhancement Ores
  • AB7VIJC9EGDAZ – 100 Primogems and five Hero’s Wit
  • WT7D3CQEHVBM – 100 Primogems and 50000 Mora

Update 2.5 will introduce the new character Yae Miko, an old friend of Morax and Baal. A 5-star Electro user, Yae wields Catalysts in combat. Kokomi, a 5-star Hydro Catalyst user, and Raiden, a 5-star Electro Polearm user, will both be the featured characters on their Banner reruns this time around. The new 5-star weapon, Kagura’s Verity, is a perfect Catalyst for Yae Miko.

A number of new events are coming to Genshin Impact 2.5. Those looking forward to exploring Enkanomiya can look forward to “Three Realms of Gateway Offering,” which will have players collecting sigils for a new item called the Bokuso Box. “Divine Ingenuity” is another new event that will let Travelers design and share their own domain. On the mini-game side of things, “Of Drink A-Dreaming” will let players roleplay as a bartender and mix drinks. The new story quests will focus on Raiden Shogun and Yae Miko.

The livestream also revealed some concept art of The Chasm, said to be arriving in the 2.6 update.

Genshin Impact is available to play on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices. The game blew past other gaming subreddits in 2021, becoming the most viewed for the year. Genshin Impact was also the most discussed game on Twitter in 2021, followed by Apex Legends in second place.
